Kanga Exchange review: PAX Gold in złoty

Kanga Exchange lists PAX Gold against the Polish złoty and USDC, and its EU entity holds a MiCA licence from the Bank of Latvia since 18 June 2026. It is the only PAXG/PLN market we could verify.

We send you to CEX.IO — trading since 2013, registered with FinCEN and licensed as a money transmitter in 38 US states.

CEX.IO is not onboarding new users in the EU/EEA right now, and Paxos says PAXG is currently unavailable in the EU. Check availability in your country before signing up.

Verdict: the złoty gateway to PAXG

Kanga Exchange is the only venue where we could verify a PAX Gold (PAXG) market against the Polish złoty. Its PAXG-PLN market page was online on 12 October 2026, and CoinGecko showed about $18,000 of 24-hour volume on the pair that day. Kanga also lists PAXG/USDC. For a Polish saver who wants gold exposure without converting to euros or dollars first, it is the most direct option.

Kanga’s regulatory position is also clearer than most in Poland. Its EU entity, SIA AlphaRoute (Kanga Exchange EU), received a MiCA crypto-asset service provider licence from the Bank of Latvia on 18 June 2026. That matters because Poland itself has not yet passed a MiCA implementing law. Against that, liquidity is modest and we could not read a fee schedule, so plan your orders carefully.

“Regulation” is high thanks to the MiCA licence, but not top marks, because readers should still confirm the licence scope and passporting on the ESMA register. “Fees” is neutral because Kanga’s fees link redirected to its home page when we tried it. “Security” is neutral because we did not verify Kanga’s incident history from official sources for this review.

The PAXG/PLN market on Kanga

PAXG is issued by Paxos Trust Company, N.A., a US national trust bank supervised by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). One token represents one fine troy ounce of a London Good Delivery bar in LBMA vaults in London. Our gold backing guide walks through the monthly KPMG attestations and the per-wallet bar lookup.

Kanga’s PAXG/PLN pair gives you that gold priced directly in złoty. On 12 October 2026, about $18,000 changed hands on it over 24 hours, according to CoinGecko. That is enough for regular purchases of a fraction of an ounce. It is not enough to move a large sum in one go without paying for it in the spread. The PAXG/USDC pair is an alternative route if you already hold dollar stablecoins.

To compare with a coin from Mennica Polska or a bullion dealer, divide the PAXG/PLN price by 31.1035 to get an approximate złoty price per gram of fine gold. Our gold calculator does the maths, and the PAXG price page shows the live quote. Physical coins carry a dealer premium and a buyback spread; PAXG carries exchange fees and a book spread. Our PAXG vs physical gold page goes through the trade-offs.

Fees

Kanga’s home page links to a fees page from its Support section, but when we followed that link on 12 October 2026 it redirected back to the home page. We therefore do not print maker, taker, deposit or withdrawal fees. Log in and check the current schedule for the PAXG/PLN market and the PAXG withdrawal fee before you trade.

Here is how to think about cost on a modest book, with illustrative numbers. Suppose you buy 0.2 PAXG and the trading fee is 0.2%, while the gap between the best bid and ask is 0.6%. Your effective cost is about 0.8% against the mid price. A limit order placed inside the spread can cut most of that. On the Paxos side, there is no storage fee and no on-chain transfer fee today; see our fees and redemption page.

Złoty deposits and withdrawals

Kanga is built around the złoty. You fund your account in PLN, trade and withdraw back to a Polish bank account. The exact deposit methods and any charges were not visible on the pages we could load, so check them in your account before the first transfer. Use an account in your own name.

Before withdrawing PAXG, read our PAXG wallet guide. The token’s canonical contract is on Ethereum, and Paxos launched an official Solana version on 25 June 2026. Kanga’s withdrawal screen tells you which network it uses. Match it to your wallet and verify the contract on our networks page.

Comparing other PAXG venues?

CEX.IO, in business since 2013, lists PAXG against USDT, USD, EUR and USDC. Its EU entity’s MiCA application is still under review, and it does not onboard new EU or EEA users, so Polish residents cannot open a new account there today.

Open account

CEX.IO is not onboarding new users in the EU/EEA right now, and Paxos says PAXG is currently unavailable in the EU. Check availability in your country before signing up.

MiCA licence and Polish law

The EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) applies directly in every member state. Each country still has to name a competent authority and set national rules. Poland has not done so. The President vetoed the Crypto-Assets Market Act three times, most recently on 11 June 2026, and the EU transitional period ended on 1 July 2026. As a result, the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) is not designated for most crypto-asset service providers. A new bill was reportedly filed after June, but we found no confirmation that it had passed by October 2026.

The practical result is that Polish residents rely on providers authorised in another EU state and passported into Poland. Kanga did exactly that. SIA AlphaRoute received its MiCA CASP licence from the Bank of Latvia on 18 June 2026. Check the ESMA MiCA register for the services covered and the countries it is passported to.

There is a PAXG-specific wrinkle too. Paxos says on its site that “PAXG is currently unavailable in the EU”. That refers to buying and redeeming directly with Paxos. It does not stop secondary trading on EU venues, which continues on Kanga and Kraken. For you, it means you can trade PAXG in Poland but cannot open a Paxos account to mint or redeem. Our PAXG safety guide covers that and other issuer risks, such as Paxos’s ability to freeze tokens.

On tax, crypto gains in Poland are generally taxed at a flat 19% personal income tax, on income minus documented costs, declared each year on PIT-38. Crypto-to-crypto swaps are generally not taxable. Confirm the rules on podatki.gov.pl; this is not tax advice.

Questions people ask

Can I buy PAX Gold with złoty on Kanga?

Yes. Kanga lists PAXG/PLN and PAXG/USDC. On 12 October 2026 the PAXG-PLN market page was online and CoinGecko showed about $18,000 of 24-hour volume on the złoty pair. It was the only PAXG/PLN market we could verify.

Does Kanga have a MiCA licence?

Yes, through its EU entity. SIA AlphaRoute, which operates as Kanga Exchange EU, received a MiCA crypto-asset service provider licence from the Bank of Latvia on 18 June 2026, as reported by Cointelegraph. Check the ESMA register for its current status and passporting.

Why does Paxos say PAXG is unavailable in the EU?

Paxos states that PAXG is currently unavailable in the EU, which concerns buying and redeeming directly with Paxos. Secondary trading on some EU venues continues, as Kanga and Kraken show. You can trade PAXG there, but you cannot become a Paxos customer to mint or redeem from the EU.

How is PAXG taxed in Poland?

Crypto gains are generally taxed at a flat 19% personal income tax, calculated as income minus documented costs and declared annually on PIT-38. Crypto-to-crypto swaps are generally not taxable events. Check the current rules on podatki.gov.pl; this is not tax advice.

Is Kanga better than Zondacrypto for PAXG?

We could not verify any PAXG market on Zondacrypto, and its Estonian licence was partially suspended in 2026 with a reported revocation, alongside a Polish criminal probe. We do not recommend Zondacrypto. Kanga has a verified PAXG/PLN market and a MiCA licence through its Latvian entity.
