About paxgold.finance and how we work

paxgold.finance is an independent guide to PAX Gold (PAXG). We explain how the token works, what it costs, how safe it is and how people buy it in different countries — using primary sources and dated facts.

We send you to CEX.IO — trading since 2013, registered with FinCEN and licensed as a money transmitter in 38 US states.

What this site is

paxgold.finance is a review and guide site about one asset: PAX Gold, the gold-backed token issued by Paxos Trust Company, N.A. One PAXG represents one fine troy ounce of a London Good Delivery gold bar. We cover the basics in what PAX Gold is, the vaults and attestations in gold backing, the costs in redemption and fees, and local rules in our country guides.

We built the site because good information about PAXG is scattered. The issuer’s pages, exchange listings, regulator registers and tax rules each answer part of the question. We try to put the full answer in one place, with a date on every fact that can change.

Independence

This is not the official PAX Gold website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or run by Paxos Trust Company or any Paxos group company. We are also not run by any exchange, wallet maker or gold dealer mentioned on these pages.

Editorial decisions are ours. No issuer or exchange reviews our articles before publication, chooses our scores or tells us what to write. When we say an exchange has thin liquidity, a poor security record or an unclear licence status, that is our reading of the evidence.

How we research

We start with primary sources: paxos.com and the Paxos help center, the PAXG contract on Etherscan, regulator websites and registers, national tax authorities, the London Bullion Market Association and the World Gold Council. For exchange listings we check the exchange’s own public market API where it is reachable, and use market aggregators such as CoinGecko and CoinPaprika as a second source.

If we cannot confirm a fact, we say so or leave it out. We do not fill gaps with guesses about fees, licences, user numbers or dates. Our editorial policy sets out the rules in full, including how we handle live prices and corrections.

Why the buttons go to one exchange

Most pages have a button to buy PAXG. These link to CEX.IO, a long-running exchange in business since 2013, whose US entity is registered with FinCEN and licensed as a money transmitter in 38 US states plus DC (not New York or California). We link to one venue so readers who want to act have a clear next step. We receive no instructions from it about what we write.

That button is not a claim that CEX.IO is the best choice for you. CEX.IO does not serve some countries, including India, and is not onboarding new users in the EU/EEA. Our exchanges comparison and country guides cover local venues fairly, including ones that may suit you better.

What we are not

We are not a financial adviser, broker, exchange or tax professional. Nothing on this site is investment, tax or legal advice. We do not hold or manage anyone’s funds, and we cannot access accounts at Paxos or any exchange. Please read the disclaimer for the full picture.

Questions, corrections and data issues are welcome. You can reach us through the contact page or at support@paxgold.finance. For the issuer’s own information, go directly to paxos.com.
