The short version
- No accounts, sign-ups, newsletters or comment forms.
- No advertising and no advertising networks.
- No analytics scripts and no tracking cookies.
- Live price widgets fetch data directly from third-party public APIs in your browser.
- A short-lived price cache sits in your browser’s sessionStorage and is cleared when you close the tab.
- Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs.
Live data requests
To show current prices, our pages ask public data services for numbers from your browser. Your browser connects to these services directly, not through our servers. Like any website you visit, each service receives your IP address, your browser’s user-agent and the page origin (paxgold.finance) as part of the request. Their own privacy policies govern what they do with that information.
| Service | Used for | Domain |
|---|---|---|
| CoinGecko | PAXG price, market cap, volume, charts | api.coingecko.com |
| gold-api.com | Spot gold (XAU) price | api.gold-api.com |
| Binance | Fallback price and chart data | data-api.binance.vision |
| Coinbase | Fallback price data | api.exchange.coinbase.com |
| Kraken | Fallback price data | api.kraken.com |
| jsDelivr / ExchangeRate-API | Currency exchange rates | cdn.jsdelivr.net, open.er-api.com |
Not every service is contacted on every visit; fallbacks load only if the primary source fails.
If you block these domains, the site still works. The live widgets simply hide themselves and the rest of each page stays readable.
Browser storage
We do not set cookies. To avoid asking the data services for the same price over and over, the site saves recent responses in your browser’s sessionStorage for a short time. This data contains only market numbers — no personal information — and it never leaves your device. It is deleted when you close the tab or browser window.
Hosting logs
The site is served as static pages by a hosting provider. Like almost all web servers, the host records standard access logs, which may include your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser type. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure, for example to detect abuse. We do not use them to build profiles of visitors, and we do not combine them with other data.
If you email us
If you write to support@paxgold.finance, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply and, if you report an error, to fix the page. We do not add you to any list, sell your data or share it with third parties, unless the law requires us to. Please do not send private keys, recovery phrases or account passwords — we will never ask for them.
External links
Pages link to official sites such as paxos.com, regulators, tax authorities and exchanges. When you click a link, you leave paxgold.finance, and that site’s privacy policy applies. Exchanges, including CEX.IO where our buy buttons lead, will ask for personal data and identity documents when you open an account. That data goes to them, not to us.
Your choices and changes to this policy
You can use a content blocker to stop requests to the live data services, and you can clear sessionStorage at any time through your browser settings. Because we do not hold accounts or profiles, there is normally nothing for us to export or delete. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, ask at the address above.
If our practices change — for example if we ever add a new data service — we will update this page and its date. Questions about privacy are welcome through the contact page.
